As many disabled people will know, finding easy to use public transport is virtually impossible in South Africa. Unless they are wealthy enough to have their own modified transport. Wheelchair bound, blind or those medically unfit to drive are often reliant on sometimes ill-equipped or expensive modes of transport.

From the wheelchair ramp, to the aided swivel seat, to the plug in for the hard of hearing, there is no vehicle like the TXII as far as catering for the disabled or partially disabled is concerned.
 

The Swivel Seat is an electrically powered seat that can be lowered to the preferred level of passenger entry, all the way down to the floor of the cab if necessary. Passengers up to a certain weight can be safely raised to seat height and easily swiveled back into the taxi. This seat is operated by the driver on a hand held unit.

 

Movement within the cab is assisted by a range of easy grip/grab handles. These, together with the seat edging are highlighted in colour contrast material for the benefit of those with impaired vision. Guide dogs are welcome!

For hearing aid users an induction loop is incorporated into the driver/passenger intercom system.
